Like nations elsewhere, South Korea has a problem with fake goods. It’s trying an innovative method to stop counterfeiting, according to Jongan Kim, chief presiding trademark judge of the Korean Intellectual Property Tribunal. It’s enlisting everyday citizens to tell on people selling knockoffs, and paying bounties for their detective work. Kim is a participant in the Salzburg Global Seminar’s session on intellectual property and innovation. I am too.
