The (Other) Innovation Guru Speaks

Posted by: Michael Arndt on April 14, 2009

What do Apple, Google, Toyota, and Microsoft have in common? If you’re a BW reader, you know that they’re the top names in our 2009 Most Innovative Companies ranking. Boston Consulting Group’s Jim Andrew knows they share more than that.

BCG received some 2,700 responses to a questionnaire it sent out, on our behalf, to senior execs worldwide, polling them on innovation. Jim, who heads the consulting firm’s global innovation practice, sifted through the responses and picked his own brain to identify overlapping characteristics of these perennial winners. Jim also spotted some commonalities in another set of companies: businesses that survey respondents said don’t get the recognition they deserve as innovators.

To hear what Jim had to say on these points and more, you can listen to a podcast interview by clicking here.
